At the 2025 Grammy Awards, women made their presence felt in a spectacular way, with history-making wins in heavily male dominated categories. The female artists in attendance showcased their undeniable influence on the music industry, proving that their voices and creative contributions are at the forefront of shaping today’s cultural landscape. Here are some of the best moments that show women are taking their places at the head of the table.
Doechii is the third woman ever to win Best Rap Album
In a category that wasn’t recognized at the awards show until 30 years after the initial ceremony and has seen only two other women win, Doechii has cemented her name in the music industry history books. Doechii’s first Grammy win, she was also nominated for Best New Artist, marks a ground-breaking moment for women in Rap and Hip-Hop. Her heartfelt speech was a dedication to herself and her hard work but also to other young Black women watching her as inspiration.
“I know that there is some Black girl out there — so many Black women out there — that are watching me right now, and I want to tell you: You can do it. Anything is possible.”

Charli XCX brings "brat" to the Grammys
After her latest album turned into an entire movement last summer, “brat” brought Charli XCX her first Grammy wins after over a decade in the industry. Her spot as the finale performance at the awards show was a fitting end, where she turned the arena into a bona-fide rave with a crew of dancers. Her biggest year yet shows no sign of slowing down, as the British singer will perform at Coachella in April, kick off her first solo U.S. arena tour, and reportedly has a film in the works

Chappell Roan Uses the Stage to Advocate
Another stand-out during 2024’s pop girl summer was Missouri native Chappell Roan. At the 2025 Grammys she nabbed her first trophy of her career for Best New Artist, but what really caught the audience’s attention was her speech. Roan called out the music industry for not taking care of their artists properly, sharing that she was dropped by her first label and subsequently lost her health insurance, earning a heartfelt nod in agreement from Taylor Swift in the audience.

Sabrina Carpenter wins Best Pop Vocal Album
On her sixth studio album, Sabrina Carpenter has finally found her footing in the industry with her latest release “Short n’ Sweet.” In a stacked category among pop superstars Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Billie Eilish, Carpenter came out victorious with her first Grammy win. Despite the mega-talent she was up against, it should come as no surprise that the woman responsible for summer’s biggest can’t-get-out-of-my-head song “Espresso” would leave the ceremony with two gramophones for pop music.

Alicia Keys Celebrates DEI
Alicia Keys was honored with the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award and used her time on stage to praise Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), saying, “DEI is not a threat, it’s a gift.”

Beyoncé finally wins Album of the Year
The Academy of Recording Artists finally had a chance to right their wrongs of the past, finally giving Beyoncé the most coveted award of the night, Album of the Year, for her genre-switch into country music for Cowboy Carter. The crowd erupted into celebration when her name was announced, with some young artists like Billie Eilish and Lady Gaga shedding tears of admiration for the star. Taylor Swift was seen toasting with champagne to Beyoncé’s husband Jay-Z, while daughter Blue Ivy joined her mom on stage as she accepted the award that she has lost four times prior, despite being the most nominated and awarded artist in history.
