Female Firsts: Sandra Douglass Morgan

On Thursday July the 7th 2022 Sandra Douglass Morgan was hired as team President for the Las Vegas Raiders making her the first Black woman in NFL history to assume the role. As a Las Vegas and someone with experience in Nevada’s gaming industry Morgan was a shoo-in for the position. With a political science degree from University of Nevada,Reno, before earning a juris doctor from UNLV’ Boyd Law School she held many impressive titles. These include being a litigation attorney for MGM Resorts International, a city attorney in North Las Vegas from 2013 to 2016, a Director of external affairs for AT&T from 2016 to 2019, briefly being a commissioner on the Nevada Gaming Commission and a chairwoman for the Nevada Gaming Control Board from 2019 to 2021. Morgan also has ties to the NFL through roles as vice chair of the Las Vegas Super Bowl host committee and board of directors of Allegiant Travel Co. both of which she was appointed in 2021.
